THE QUESTIONS START FLOODING MY MIND. HOW DID I GET HERE? ONCE THE FOG LIFTS, REALITY STARTS TO SET IN…. I’LL BE HERE AWHILE.

I’m lying in my bunk at Placer County jail, bail denied, facing a minimum sentence of 18 months-3 years in prison for my 4th DUI charge in 10 years.

The questions start flooding my mind. How did I get here? Once the fog lifts, reality starts to set in…. I’ll be here awhile.

I start to make a mental assessment of my entire life, as if it just flashed before my eyes while I stare at that big fluorescent light above me that never turns off.  It was out of my hands. That was the first time I opened my heart and cried out to God in prayer, begging Him to save me, promising God I would change and do whatever He wanted me to do if I got out.

Within a couple days my father let me know about a place called The Bridge that my aunt & uncle recommended. In the next couple weeks my lawyer convinced the judge to grant bail and release me to the program. I came to The Bridge lost and broken. Within 3 months or so I gave my life to Jesus. It was at that moment I felt the Spirit fill that void in my broken heart and soul, that I had been trying fill with pleasures that could never satisfy. It was that moment when Jesus healed my blinded eyes with his truth.  I could finally see everything clearly.

I thank the Lord everyday for saving me. I’m so thankful for The Bridge Ministry that the Lord uses to reach broken men like me. I am so thankful that God has given me the opportunity serve Him as well as others. I would like to thank everyone who supports this ministry. I give all the glory and praise to our victorious King, Jesus Christ.
